Injuries kick in:
Looks like the ILB battle is over with Calabrese and Fox starting. This really makes sense with all the playing time these guys have had. Think Hendrix being groomed to be a Tebow short down QB.
Just think – just 1 more week of camp then game prep week for Temple.

Film clips provided again by und.com. Nicky Baratti out for the 2013 season – same shoulder that he injured last year.
The clips are brief but interesting. Once again Zack Martin handles Tuitt and Nick Martin handles Nix. Only brief look so far and we don’t see the full practices but it sure looks to me that Zack Martin having no trouble with Tuitt. Don’t know what to make of that – just hoping Tuitt is maybe more of a game day player as opposed to a practice player. Cam McDaniel – another good run.
First real look for the media and a few clips for your viewing pleasure. First clip, I really couldn’t tell who was who seems film was sped up but did see Cam McDaniel and GAIII reel off some excellent runs. On another clip Louis Nix threw Matt Hegarty all over the place.
Interesting that at one point the 2 ILB’s were Calabrese with Fox playing Manti’s position. Everything looked fast paced–far faster than in previous years.
We really only see basic plays so Kelly is holding his cards tight as usual.
Only 3 weeks to go – then Temple.
In helmets and pads intensity levels up. Kelly looking for tough guys not just nice guys. und.com again provides clip of practice. Cam McDaniel and GAIII get off nice runs.
Troy Niklas eats up Ishack Williams in blocking but the highlight for me – Zack Martin vs. Stephon Tuitt and how easily Martin handles Tuitt. I don’t know if Martin is that good or if Tuitt is still not in shape.
Press will be on hand for full practice Friday – so a lot more will be known about what’s going on.
