NEW YEAR’S NIGHTMARE

Reports that Charlie Weis will become Florida’s OC is possibly the worst news that ND could possibly receive. If true might as well cede all best Fla high school talent to Weis–he can flat out recruit. Imagine what he will be able to do with guys that don’t even have to go to class. REVENGE — only reason I can think why Weis would take this job. He was not happy at all about his ND ouster. He will be chomping at the bit to get ND in a Bowl Game. Florida is going to be on top very quickly with the duo of Muschamp and Weis. Happy Fucking New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was it just me or did anyone else get pissed by those douchebag announcers pro Miami bias. Nevertheless great way to finish the season and you really have to believe Kelly is the answer. Just consider the injuries handicap and imagine finishing the season with a QB who looks like a high school freshman. Miami hasn’t changed–still cheapshot artists and pummeled Rees with late hits. Overall team played fairly well–Floyd was simply great along with Harrison Smith. Concerns–OL on and off they still need a lot of work on toughness. DL–I was disappointed at lack of pressure on QB’s. Miami self destructed all by themselves. Have to watch the game again but I don’t recall anyone hitting the M QB’s when they dropped back. All in all simply great finish for a seriously depleted squad–CONGRATULATIONS!!!

SUN BOWL ND vs MIAMI

2:pm Dec 31st. CBS TV This is a scary game for ND. Miami played Ohio State tough and rolled Pitt. They can play defense and they can score. Another team with a mobile QB. I’m going to assume our defense will show up. I would be happy if for this one game we don’t give up a wide open pass right down the center of the field. That being said ND’s only chance to win is to have a dominating OL performance. So if Rees doesn’t fall apart and the OL performs–we win barely. Final score ND 30 Miami 24

Bennett Okotcha 6′ 175 flipped from Wisconsin to ND. He is from Coppell High Texas–teammate of Cam McDaniel RB commit.

Welcome to ND.

Now we really have to get another OT.

If we can keep this class together we will be alright. Really looking forward to watching Councell and Rabasa as OLB’s–what a nice set of bookends at that position.

Keep it rolling Kelly.

ND will play Miami in the SUN BOWL on New Years Eve Dec. 31st 2PM EST televised on CBS.

Both teams have 7-5 records with Miami losing their last 2 games which led to the firing of Randy Shannon. Interim coach is Jeff Stoutland who is the current line coach.

This should be a good match up and don’t think Miami will roll over. They beat Pitt(31-3) Maryland and Georgia Tech(35-10).

The only team both played this year is Pitt and ND squeaked by Pitt 23-17.

Predict a real tough game for ND as Miami is another team with a mobile QB.

The Bowl Games and ND’s placing will not occur until later today. But just take a moment to consider where we would be playing if the following had transpired:

  1. Kelly and new staff.
  2. Vastly improved defense.
  3. Kyle Rudolph not injured.
  4. Jimmy & Golden staying for senior year.

This was the year Weis was building for and his great recruiting would pay off. He snake bit himself by ignoring the defensive situation.

So adding Kelly and keeping all of the above I believe we would be playing in the NC game and winning.

Imagine Jimmy running this offense with Golden, Floyd and Rudolph all healthy and playing. WOW

ND picked up Everett Golson QB from South Carolina who de-committed from North Carolina. He plans to enroll early.

Listed at about 6ft 170 he can pass and run and is a perfect fit for the BK offense.

It will be an interesting spring for ND QB’s. Hopefully no one leaves for the Kelly offense uses up QB’s at a rapid rate. Golson missed more than a few games this year due to injuries in a similar offense. Could be our next Tony Rice. Welcome to ND and have a great career.

We are still in need of OL recruits and Pat Flavin is still out there–he’s 6’7″. I’d take him now

Give me Texas RB’s & PA. Linemen.

Cam McDaniel a 5’10 185 RB from Coppell Texas just became ND’s 17th commit. This kid is a tough versatile footballer. Quick and darting rather than a blazer.

Can play RB, Receiver or DB. Tough kid and fits Kelly’s RKG’s

Welcome Cam–may you have a great career.
