How does Notre Dame break thru to say the status of Alabama, LSU and Oklahoma.

Hard to tell– since ND doesn’t play them–except next year, Oklahoma on the schedule.

Oklahoma had all they could handle vs. Navy last year and I doubt they would schedule them again.

Now, lets look at Alabama & LSU–I would really like to see both play Air Force and Navy, that way we could compare how ND measures up to these elite programs.

I sincerely doubt that either of the above would play the “D” that Notre Dame seems satisfied with–I simply can’t imagine Air Force or Navy topping 500 yds against either–they wouldn’t!!!!

So, we have a problem vs the option that they wouldn’t have–while we bend they would break.

Air Force would be destroyed by the 1st quarter so would Navy.

You have to go back to Jimmy Johnson’s Miami teams vs Barry Switzer’s Oklahoma option teams.

Switzer ran the most potent offense in football via the option which Miami destroyed–simply due to the fact Oklahoma had a limited passing game.

So, anyone who tells you–give yards but not points misses the fact that it doesn’t work..

ND has the players now but the defensive mind set against the option will not work.

ND should emulate Alabama ag. the option–just destroy the guy in front of you and have more than one guy to handle the pitch.

Diaco has 1 whole year and it does not seem he has a clue about option football–think Denard Robinson and 22 seconds.
