Spring Football 2012

Well, as expected the first day of Spring Practice saw lots of guys running around and of course everybody was better conditioned, excited and raring to go. But then again we have been hearing that for 20 years.

We saw receivers catch the ball, runners run and some linemen lined up. While all this doesn’t mean much–you are not going to see or learn a hell of a lot until the Blue Gold finale. Hopefully we’ll see the OL go against the DL one on one like last year.

For now the OL looks like T-Martin, G-Watt C-Golic, G Lombard and T-Nicols

Actually saw Cam McDaniel as a CB intercept a pass–he actually turned around to do it.

The mammoth RT Tate Nichols wore about 6 braces on his legs.

QB’s–Kiel just throwing–which reminded me back to Claussen’s first year and the disaster that followed. He was the most gifted and should have started from game 1 but remember the OL was really awful and remained that way for his 3 years at ND.

I want to mention here for my personal Hall Of Shame– John Sullivan, an overrated All American candidate now with Vikings who purposely didn’t block and often purposely sailed the ball over Claussen’s head when he was in shotgun formation. Weis should have benched him and I’m disappointed in Charlie for that

So, expect dribs and squibs meaning nothing until B/G game.

Big recruiting weekend–need some commits out of this.
